Fr. National Security Adviser Michael Flynn to plead guilty to "Willfully and Knowingly" l

There has been a lot of "hoopla" around the Trump Administration and the Russian connection. Russia is believed to have meddled in the 2016 election cycle.

Many people connected with Donald Trump met with Russian government officials during his campaign and post election. Former National Security adviser Michael Flynn is one of these people connected to Trump that had such conversations with Russian Government officials.

According to documents filed in the courts last friday, Flynn

"willfully and knowingly make materially false, fictitious and fraudulent statements and representations in a matter within the jurisdiction of the executive brand of the government of the United States."

Flynn is being charged with Lying to the F.B.I., but this is separated into two different charges.

Robert Mueller has been heading up the special investigation into the Trump/Russian collusion since Fr. F.B.I Director James Comey was fired for investigating the same thing.

As WISN Reported:

Flynn's statements were related to the nature of his conversations with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak in December 2016, before Trump took office.

The documents say lied when he said he did not ask the ambassador "to refrain from escalation the situation in response to sanctions that the United States has imposed against Russia that same day."

He is also alleged to have lied about asking Kislyak to delay a vote on U.N. Security Council resolution.

Flynn resigned in February after it was revealed he misled Vice President Mike Pence about the talks.

Flynn is expected to plead guilty this morning.
