Ohio Activists offer Free Hugs and Food on Inauguration Day
January 20th, for those unaware, was Inauguration Day. The day where Donald Trump was sworn in as our 45th President. There were massive protests nationwide from D.C. to Seattle and everywhere in between.
A group of Ohio activists decided to take a different approach to "protesting" Donald Trump's inauguration. Instead of marching in the streets, they set up a cookout in Downtown Columbus at the Ohio Statehouse.

Giving out free hugs, hamburgers, hotdogs, and veggie burgers the mission was to engage with everyday people and ask them what they thought of our new president. Unable to find anyone who supported Trump, our conversations with people were mainly about their concerns and fears of Trump's presidency.
One woman hoped that Trump would be impeached within 30 days of being elected. Others just hoped Trump would only be a one term president.
The day was mainly filled with "good vibes." People were both shocked and appreciative to see us handing out free food. Over 20 Burgers, 10 hotdogs and few spicy black bean burgers were handed out in total.
Below you can see a video of some of the activists and TRBT staff cooking and imitating the "SaltBae" meme while preparing the food. Expect more of these conversation starting events in both Dayton and Columbus OH.
